Samsung pauses One UI 7 rollout worldwide due to bug: Report
Samsung has paused the One UI 7 rollout that started last week with some of their flagship models, including the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. While Samsung confirmed the move, they haven’t clarified the reason for the pause.
The South Korean electronics company said they wanted to ensure that users have the “best possible experience,” adding they will share the new date for the re-release soon, per a statement given to Android Authority.
The outlet noted that a few leakers initially disclosed that a serious bug had been discovered in South Korean devices during the rollout, but the company has decided to pause the rollout globally to be extra cautious.
The update is meant to bring Android 15, which has a slew of AI features, to the older models like the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.
Rollout had started on April 7 and was already delayed when considering that Android 15 was released to developers seven months ago.
Samsung’s latest Galaxy S25 range was launched with One UI 7, so these devices won’t have the faulty update.
Google is expected to release the first version of Android 16 in June.
