Amazon launches Alexa-powered smart alarm clock Echo Spot in India
Amazon on Wednesday (January 8, 2025) launched the Alexa-powered smart alarm clock Echo Spot with a unidirectional speaker in India. With up to eight customisable clock faces, the Echo Spot also features colour display and four new alarm sounds.
The Amazon Echo Spot has a 2.83 inch touch screen customisable display with six different colour themes. It helps users set and view alarms, see the time, weather, or song titles. It comes with night mode also.
Amazon’s Echo Spot has a 1.73 inch front-firing speaker to play music, podcasts, and audiobooks from providers like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and JioSaavn.
The Echo Spot has buttons on the top to adjust the volume or users can ask Alexa to do it for them.

Echo Spot can also be connected to compatible smart home products and used to set up Alexa routines to help automate daily tasks with voice command. Customers can set up an Alexa routine using their Alexa app by navigating to ‘More’, followed by ‘Routines’, and then selecting either a pre-set routine or creating a custom one.
With Ultrasound Motion Detection available in Echo Spot, they can also create smart home routines to turn on compatible lights or play music when they enter the room.
Customers can also ask Alexa to place audio calls to loved ones on other Alexa-enabled devices, make household announcements, or audibly Drop In on other Alexa-enabled devices in the household.
Echo Spot has a microphone on/off button and the ability to view and delete voice recordings.
Echo Spot is available for purchase in Black and Blue on Amazon, Blinkit, and Croma, priced at ₹8,999. For an introductory limited period offer, it will retail at ₹6,449.
“Through our range of devices, we constantly strive to add more convenience and comfort to our customers’ daily lives. Echo Spot, the newest addition to the Echo family of devices, continues to deliver on this commitment. Customers can gently wake up to their favourite music, control Alexa-compatible smart lights and home appliances, and glance at the weather and their calendar–by giving voice commands to Alexa from the comfort of their bed,” said Parag Gupta, Director and Country Manager, Amazon Devices India.
